Diary Highlights (Full Diary...)
19th March - 3rd April 2024 - Cruise Workshops on the Spirit of Adventure
I've been invited to run painting workshops on the Saga cruise ship ‘Spirit of Adventure’, sailing from Portsmouth on the 19th of March, on a 15-night voyage billed as Magic of the Northern Lights.
It's been a while since I visited Norway, so I'm really looking forward to this one. Amongst the highlights - which includes visits to Tromso, Alta and Bergen - is a stop at Alesund, a new destination for me. According to the blurb; Ålesund has a character unlike any other Norwegian town. After a fire tore through the wooden fishing village in 1904, it was rebuilt in the prevailing Jugendstil style. Wander its streets, admiring the art nouveau architecture and myriad turrets, spires and medieval ornamentation, explore the Atlantic Sea Park, one of Europe’s largest aquariums, or discover Ålesund’s many squares which feature sculptures commemorating significant events in the town’s history. Bring it on!
13th - 20th April 2024 - Alpha Painting Holiday in The Algarve, Portugal
Join Peter on on this exciting opportunity to paint in an absolutely delightful place in the Western Algarve.
The Algarve is well known for it's amazing light conditions and vibrant colours from the vivid blue skies and turquoise waters to it's lush green and colourful vegetation as well as the rustic tiled and coloured traditional buildings.
The holiday will be based in Praia da Luz where you can paint the coastline, fortaleza, buildings and churches. The traditional fishing village of Burgau is within a few minutes drive from Luz and has some really quaint subjects to paint including buildings, cobbled streets, boats and the beautiful coastline.
Places on this fantastic painting opportunity are already filling up fast, so book today!
25/10/23: WATERCOLOUR ON DEMAND - VOD RELAUNCH
While DVD discs don't seem to be dying out completely any time soon, there has been a definite shift in viewing and purchasing patterns over the last year or so. This has prompted a relaunch of Peters Video On Demand service, with two brand new titles, now exclusively available 'On Demand'.
In Langdale - Pikes and Tarns, he explores the fells above Great Langdale in the Lake District, and challenges himself to hike to three high tarns (Lingmoor Tarn, Stickle Tarn and Angle Tarn) over three consecutive days. The result is a cinematic journey accompanied by five full watercolour demonstrations.
In Two Becks - Malham and Gordale, Peter explores the area around Malham, in the heart of The Yorkshire Dales, visiting the iconic Malham Cove, its impressive limestone pavement, and then on to the spectacular landscape of Goredale and Gordale Scar. Inspired by his visit he paints two watercolours; Malham Beck, with the dramatic backdrop of the cove lurking in the background and Gordale Beck - a close study of a small, but impressive, waterfall on the walk up to Gordale Scar. All demonstrations are bursting with hints and tips to help watercolour artists of all abilities, from beginner upwards, improve their painting technique.
All titles are available to Stream, Download or Rent (see individual video pages for full purchase details). More titles are expected to be added over the next few months, so watch this space!

20/10/21: Now Showing on Peter's YouTube Channel
Available 3rd November:
Grand Circle South America is a six-part series available to view exclusively on my YouTube Channel. Part 1: Bristol to Cape Verde is now available, with the five subsequent episodes scheduled to be posted one week apart.
In 2019, I was commissioned to run painting classes on the cruise ship Marco Polo during its epic, 70-day circumnavigation of South America. In this series of six episodes, I will be sharing highlights from this magnificent voyage, punctuated by several timelapse demonstrations of watercolour paintings directly related to the trip.
Join me in part one, as we sail from Bristol to Mindelo in the Cape Verde Islands, stopping off at Lisbon, Madeira and the Canary Islands along the way.
Featuring exclusive footage from the trip and an original soundtrack, this episode also includes a painting of a fishing boat on the beach at Mindelo (the full version of which is available to subscribers of my Online Tuition Service.
The series will be covering the whole of the trip, with highlights including penguins on the Falkland Islands, spectacular views of Rio de Janeiro and the magnificent mountains seen from the Chilean Fjords. Visits to Ecuador and Peru provide the perfect build-up to a transit of The Panama Canal, before heading homeward across the Atlantic, via the Azores.
I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed putting it together!
